They still make 2D fighting games?
Strong will can stir the heart, but a will too strong can cut off the heart's visibility. The sorrow of a man bereaved of his family turns into hate, which eventually metamorphosises into the intent to kill. The man's finger reaches for the trigger. Sin changes people. Sin begets sin, but I, I still want to believe. I still want to believe in the heart. The heart that feels the sin.

No I haven't. It's just 2014 and was surprised that they still made 2D fighting games.

Of course they're still making 2D Fighters. What, is it supposed to be just 3D Fighters now?

2D Fighters are still popular so I don't think you're living in 2014. Must be a different time

Because THATS WHAT YOU ASKED and THATS WHAT IT IS.
Naturally if you want to know more than 'what it is', which is what you asked. Then look it up on Wiki or something.

It's a 2D fighting game with hand-drawn sprites created by Arksys Works. It is the third entry in the series. The main story mode is convoluted yet entertaining, and some cutscenes are animated, but most of them are shown like a text-based adventure game/visual novel. You are even given choices that will affect the outcome of the story.

It has a large colorful cast that have a lot of stereotypes generally found in anime, and everyone has a unique and over-the-top fighting style with a large array of attacks in their arsenal.

The game takes a lot of skill, but good thing it has a detailed tutorial mode that will teach you all of the essentials. If you're still having trouble, then you can dumb down the controls so that you can pull off flashy moves and basic combos with the simple push of a button. Though even this style of play has levels of depth to it.

Its music is phenomenal, particularly for a fighting game. It has English and Japanese voice acting (you can choose which you prefer to listen to) that doesn't sound amateurish, to say the least. It has a large gallery mode filled with amazing drawings that are created by professional artists and talented fans alike.

What really attracts people to it, though, is its intense, stylish, and addictive heavily combo based gameplay. I suggest looking up videos. You will not be disappointed. It's one of the best fighters around, and it is loaded with content.

BlazBlue has spawned an anime, CD dramas, at least one manga, and a number of game spinoffs.

Now, I hope that answered your question. ^_~

Did any of you catch BB:CP at EVO?

I'm not a huge BB fan, but it was objectively the best finals EVO had yesterday.

    Yeah, that was stellar!

I main Makoto and Azrael, but I don't own the game, lol.

The only anime games I own currently are Persona 4 Arena, Arcana Heart 3, and Aquapazza. :c

    Oh, okay.

    How's Aquapazza?

I'm not really nitpicky when it comes to 2D anime fighters. Unless they have major flaws, the game gets stale fast, and/or it is broken beyond repair.

I want to try something new and I might get that or Chaos Code.

    Aquapazza sucks.

    The Online is dead too

I highly recommend getting Chrono Phantasma. It's the best in the series

Aquapizza doesn't suck, it's just too anime, lol.

Nobody wants to play it. Why put effort in that game when you can just play Guilty Gear or BlazBlue.

If you want something new, AH3 or P4A are fun if you've never played them.

Guilty Gear Xrd is on the horizon also.

No one in Murica knows who the **** the people are in Aquapazza unless you are totes weeb.

The story mode is pretty much Arcade Mode. And Ma-Ryan is on SNK Syndrome which makes it further aggravating.

The gameplay pales in comparison to the other 2D fighters and is really unbalanced.

One of its main flaws is the low ass replay value.

And don't give me that "Oh the online isn't dead" crap Jake. I was trying to find people to play with the other week and it was a ghost town. If I am lucky I can find 2 people.
And if I do, the lag is bad. Like pjca kind of bad.

Implying you have to know the cast origins to play the game~

BB's story is some of the most convoluted stuff in gaming history. People who play it as a fighting game don't play it for character knowledge and story, generally.

Just because you had trouble with the arcade boss and you couldn't find anyone doesn't mean it's a bad game.

You're just putting words in my mouth, lol. I didn't say the online wasn't dead. Aquapazza is a dead game, because as I said before, why play it when there are Guilty Gear and BlazBlue to play.

I just disagree with it being a bad game. When it launched on PSN, a group of my friends and I played it and it was really fun. The same day, I found good connections online. It's just a niche game, and those don't last long.

The top tier girl in that game is really good, but the balance is also great, so that doesn't really matter too much.

@Bold #1: Depends on the game really.
@Bold #2: At first, yes it is. More confusing than convoluted actually. In Chrono Phantasma they go in good detail so it's not as WTF AM I READING.
Some people are interested in the story. That's why they made XBlaze. :P
@Bold #3: Difference between challenging and stupid cheap. Which it was. Did you play against Chizuru in Score Attack? She puts SNK bosses and P4A Score Attack CPU to shame lmao.

Wasn't really trying to put words in your mouth lel.

And I respectfully disagree. Matter of opinion I guess.
Yeah, at launch it was most likely lively. But now, not so much.

Top Tier girl? Chizuru or Loli Witch?

    It's super dead now, lol.

It took ArkSys 4-5 iterations of a game to make the story not confusing and offer more insight into it via spinoff games? :c

There's only one top tier girl, Chizuru.

    The rest are really balanced.

Chizuru isn't Kokonoe level bad though, concerning broken tier level.
