Koei Tecmo’s Attack On Titan Latest Famitsu Scans Introduces Its Characters, Story & Gameplay Mechanics

After a two months of no scans for Koei Tecmo’s upcoming Attack On Titan, this week’s of Famitsu finally revealed a new set of scans introducing the characters, the story and the gameplay mechanics. The scans start off introducing Krista, following up with Ymir, Bertolt, Reiner, Annie and many others. Additionally, iconic moments of the series such as the moment when Eren and Jean must put aside their differences and fight for the first time. The scenes will generally follow the original work’s format with the bonus of beautifully crafted 3D visuals.

We also get more details on the gameplay mechanics such as the importance of paying attention to your blade’s sharpness as well as your gas levels. Just like in the original series, you’ll have the polish your 3D Maneuver skills and attacks. The scans also covers on the importance of teamwork. You can give orders to specific members, such as drawing attention away from you so you can deliver the final blow. The goal is to go for their weak point, that being the nape of their necks. However, not all Titans will go down so easily. There are Titans that have special characteristics called “Aberrants”. You’ll need to pay close attention to their attack patterns in order to find the perfect moment to strike.

Lastly, you will be able to interact with various characters from the series, as well as explore the surrounding area in the barracks. You can expect to see a different side of these characters, a side not shown in the original work. There are also shops where you can build up supplies for the next fight – new weapons will be developed over the course of the game. By visiting the barracks and walking around the city streets, you’ll be able to gather useful information about the world and combat.

Koei Tecmo’s Attack on Titan is scheduled to release this winter in Japan on the PS3, PS4, and PS Vita. Check out the scans below:
